Add a Post Title

I finally got Christmas shopping done.  Im not sure I am all done.  But at least I have something for the “boys”.  I also bought for a church family. Of course it was not going to be smooth.  I got to the cashier and  both my bank card and credit card were declined.  Embarrassment.  I had just used it in the video department. So I went to the car and called the bank.  They thought there was suspicious activity.  Yup.  I was doing a lot of shopping.  Once I verified it was all my transaction off we went.  I got home about  midnight wound up.  So I put up my first Christmas decorations.

If I don’t get to post later….Merry Christmas!!!!!

Blue Christmas and Cookies

A so good day yesterday.  Tired today, but it will go.  I will revive after another cup of coffee and by taking the day at a bit more leasurely pace.  Lights on the Lake tonight.  I do love Lights on the Lake. (But don’t spread that around too far!)

Last night was Blue Chirstmas.  A service of the reality of the world at Christmas time.  No sugar plums, but comfort and hope.  Pr. John preached a heartfelt message of grief felt and faith in a God that shares our burdens and lightens our load.

Here are pictures of my contribution to the evening.

Another holiday project has been the Cookie fundraiser to help our Atonement kids get to the National Youth Gathering. The Congregation is being so supportive.  40 plates of cookies ordered.  I thought I was done baking last weekend, but I will need one more batch of the four cookies that are my contirbution.  Vicar and I will have made, with the kids help - 60 doz. cookies. The picture is of the last batch of ginger bears!

Lookin' at the Lights

Made the first trip to Lights on the Lake last night.  Probably wouldn’t make a special effort to go on my own, but I do look forward to it with the church groups.  It is a tradition if people have not seen the tree downtown we go by there, too. Tonight is “Blue Christmas” service and tomorrow night the big Lights on the Lake group.

The tree in downtown Syracuse.

A Busy Sunday

Wow! What a full day. It was great, but I AM tired.  Church, my turn to preach at both services and rehearsal for the Christmas play, Christmas Eve. 80 cookies baked and congregational french toast brunch served. I had a lot to do with the cookies and not much to do with the french toast that was David’s work.

Here is Vicar with the cookies!

And Pr. John and Shannon serving -

A good good night to all!

Cookies Cookies Cookies

I am helping the two kids and two adults who are going to the National Youth Gathering in Detroit raise funds for the trip.  So I am up to my eyes in flour and sugar.  We are aiming for 30 plates of 1 1/2 doz each.  so that is 45 doz. cookies.

Russian Tea cakes are done, as are the Spritz.

The ginger bears and the cutouts are mixed and are ready to roll- roll out that is.

I am hoping for more Christmas Spirit with each cookie I bake, but I’m not sure it is going to happen. I am having trouble focusing on Christmasy stuff!

Opps - Here's the Missing Light Picture

Light Pole Down…..

Light?

What a surprise.  I came out of church and there was light on the ground.  The snow was so heavy it pulled down the rotten pole.

Light in the Darkness

My new office will have a door and a window. It will have a wall too!  It is down in the end where it is quiet.  The only downside is the sacristy area outside of the entrence that is rather a mess. But that can be worked on, so it is all to the good! So there is light and I am out of the darkness.

Test of "Desk" to blog

I bet every one is sick of hearing “Here I go again with Blogging”  but it is the truth.  So this is the test case.  If this Publishes as easy as advertized I will be all set!   So my news is that the AAA guy pulled a pen knife blade from by back tire. It caused a flat.  The folks here at work thought that it could not be an accidental roll over debris in the road.  I didn’t either so it was nice to have my opinions confirmed.  Here is the picture-

Here We Go again. I will be trying blogging again.

Well I will be trying an app called "Desk" hoping it will make things easier. So here we go!  Wish me good luck.

Learning Curve

This blog is driving me a bit nuts.  It is the learning curve thing.  I want the blog to do something and it is designed to do another.  Also struggling with slow typing and editing.  I guess this will mean making an investment of time, sigh. It is a gray day .  I must figure out how to get pictures into this blog again.  Otherwise it is just too boring!
