Quiet Sunday

It is hard to believe that the gathering is over.  It was an event anticipated for months and months!
I have one more "Geeks on Tour" class tomorrow and then Tuesday head home.  It will be hard to head north to the cold. There has been a breeze and so 80's haven't felt so hot.  I also have worn shorts and sandals more the last five days than I have all summer.  They will need work before next summer  - too big!  That is cool.  I'm not going to do anything about till then though, because who knows what my shape will be by then.  LOL.

Living the RV Dream Gathering

This has been great fun so far.  Meeting people whose blog I read and information I use.  I really nice group of folks.  I also met a woman who is a virtual teacher.  How cool is that!  Im hoping that David can get something out of the information.  It may be a way to work camp that we haven't thought of yet.

I am also interested in seeing if the "Geeks on Tour" can help so it is easier to do this blog.  I love to put in pictures but it al drives me nuts!

Well it seems that Picassa may be the way to go that "Moon Picture when in much easier than pictures before.  Now I have to figure out how to make Google and Apple not fight.

Rain, Rain, Go Away Come Again Another Day!

It sure was rainy today.  It wouldn't quit.  Though when I checked the weather the rain only measured .67" at the Knoxville airport.  It was the first time I wanted a rain gauge for the RV.
We are awaiting the start of Escapees RV boot camp tomorrow.  Have begun to meet people as  they arrived and the weather permitted.  It was fun to see that the Hills are here.  I read the blog that Dennis writes.  I've learned a lot from the various blogs I read and so this event should be enlightening.  We met one couple who are doing their second boot camp because they learned so much the first time. Tomorrow will be hotter, but we will be inside so it won't matter too much.

Our First Escapees Park - Raccoon Valley, TN

Tonight's parking spot is way different than last night's. Of course so Is the price.  One an RV resort the other and RV park.  About $50 a night difference.  We will be where we are for almost a week.  We will be doing day trips till the RV boot camp begins on Friday.  We are about an hour from Great Smokey Mountain National Park and want to return there tomorrow to go up "Old Smokey" - Klingman's Dome the highest peak in the park. We were going to do it last night but it rained.

Raccoon Valley has all we need and is clean and quiet.  It is much quieter than the "resort" which was filled with kids.  Emma will miss the water play in the river. They had won an award for their flowers and plantings so it was really beautiful even though the spaces were just as tight. Raccoon Valley seems to have fewer dogs which also makes it much quieter.  There are no fire rings so no wood smoke blowing around or blowing in ones windows. I miss that a little bit I must admit.  It has been so hot that I am not wanting to sit out much, so that is ok.

Water Play and the Long Journey

I am grateful for God's creation, the sun and the company of a good dog.  Emma's companionship and  enthusiasm for life are encouragement to keep on, even when I don't really feel like it.  I know healing is a long upward journey and takes a lot of work with the rest. Like this path in the rand tract, it is by putting one foot in front of another that eventually you get where you need to be.

One of the fun things about our strolls is the gusto and joy Emma takes in them.  She especially likes the water.

 Now for the next round.

Opps!

That was sure fun! Again?
Where we stop for lunch.
Mom, You are going to share?

Peace and spring joy!

Spring has SPRUNG!

What a wonderful way to begin a medical leave.  I am not being sarcastic here.  So glad to have sun and warmer temperatures.  It is helping a great deal.  These early days are hard as it feels a lot like same old, same old.  It least my foggy head and sieve brain are not causing trouble for others.  I am also glad I am not making others miserable,  just cause I am feeling rotten. So, besides the medical stuff, there are a few things I am doing for myself.  I am being faithful and taking my medicine when and how much I am supposed to.  I am working at getting enough rest.  Emma is helping here.  She snuggles up close and snores real loud and it makes me sleepy, too.
I am spending time in prayer as Emma and I walk.  I listen to an app. called "Divine Office" which is an audio version of the daily office.  Mostly Morning Prayer, but tonight Evening prayer, too. Today some of the early verses of Psalm 40 spoke to me. It is hope for the journey.
And we walk.  It is good for what ails us.  God's creation is a powerful healer.
God grant all a quiet night and peace at the last.

Still Not Spring!

It is still not spring here in Central NY.  The calendar says so.....but we still have huge banks of snow and very few places where you can see bare ground.  The days are marching on though.  It is one week till we hand out Easter Food Baskets.  So shopping for 40 baskets will need to happen this weekend.  The basics are not a problem, but finding 40 hams is a bit of a chore.
There is also chocolate crosses to finish pouring and the living  water to construct.  I guess I am going to be busy, very very busy.

If I don't get here for a bit,
HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL!

Spring?

I am looking forward to spring! After a record cold February,  it looks like we may have a day above 32 degrees.  We only had one day in February that managed to reach 32 degrees, but no days over 32 degrees.  We all know spring will come eventually but most of us want it now.  We have made plans to go to the Escapee's RV boot camp in the end of July and I am going to the Huggins' gathering in October. With a Letchworth trip for the 4th of July weekend we have some touch stones for the camping season. Very anxious to get on the road.

A Long Day - Sigh

A long day.  It was the first day with my new job description.  Up hill in some ways.  There are so many moving pieces.  I feel like I'm dropping them already,  It was a good time with the kiddo's as the adults saw RFK with Appleseed. Chocolate dipped pretzels and bible bingo and 1 Cor. 13 :4+
Alas too busy take pictures :-(

Time Flies!

The calendar says its been a long time since I posted.  I guess it has.  Here is a bit of what's been going on.

The old washer broke and David had the joy of installing  a new washer.

Death of a nephew.. James "Jimmy" Rodgers died at 34 years old - He is all the way on the left next to his sister Gail. (then Jeffery, Stephen and Kevin.)

Jeff's dad Jim and grandmother Phyllis and Great Aunt Nancy, and Maryjane at the funeral lunch. It was held at Pilgrim Lutheran and the folks there did a lovely job!

This past weekend I did a lot of comfort baking - with funerals and the snow...
And....about that February snow.........
And we are indeed having 6 more weeks of winter!!  -Here is what it looks like.  Syracuse averages 120" of snow a year.  So far we have had 60" and a bit more.  It looks like we have aways to go.
Thanks for dropping by... more about what's up posted here soon -I hope.

Blog Trouble - Going to need to read up!

I don' t how or why my pictures are all goofy size. I guess I get to learn some thing new after I write thank you notes! The whole blog feels like a mess.  But I guess, new year, new challenge.

The Twelve Days of Christmas

It has been a busy holiday.  David and I had the David the younger family for Christmas dinner.  It was unexpected, so a bit hectic.  Had Missy come to clean house. So we got the house uncluttered and cleanned a nice thing. First we opened presents.  Mason really liked his Batman Bathrobe!

Then we had dinner, including Christmas Cookies and David the younger’s Birthday Cake. Cooper really liked having two desserts.

On Saturday we celebrated Cooper’s Birthday at the bowling alley.

Cooper and Mason enjoyed bowling and cake, meanwhile Zachary and Grandpa chilled together.

After the last week of the year began, I got to begin the work of office shift/nursery shift/Christian Ed closet and class room shift.  Not done yet…...

The stacks to go to the new office

But the new office is not quite ready for it.

The Christian Ed shift is well under way.

 Happy New Year All!
